Product Updates, November 2025
November brought plenty of improvements throughout the Scholarly platform, with a focus on workflows and adding to the capabilities of our API. Here are the big takeaways:
Workflow Collections
Faculty-initiated Workflows can now belong to collections
Collections are groups of workflows
Collections display on faculty dashboard when a faculty member is eligible for any of the workflows within a collection
Collection text can be configured by institution admins
These are a great way of surfacing leave workflows
API Improvements
Leave records are now available in the API
Created a Backups API endpoint, for programmatically creating backups of all data for customers
Added list endpoints for both addresses and phone numbers to list all records within an institution
Emails can now be managed through the API
Miscellaneous Improvements and Fixes
Limited profile views (i.e. how faculty members see their peers) can now be configured on a per-institution or per-department basis
Improved performance when adding many faculty members to a workflow
Leave records can now have custom fields configured
Rolled out a new multi-select input component for easier selecting of multiple values
Folders within My Documents can now be downloaded as a zip file
Improved a bug with email addresses in sandbox accounts
Improved our Web of Science synchronization to automatically find faculty members' Researcher IDs at an institution
Renamed "Display ends at" and "ends at" to "Due by" and "Closes on", respectively
Fixed a few design bugs with scrollbars showing up when they shouldn't
