Product Updates, February 2025

February might be the shortest month, but that doesn't slow down the Scholarly team.
Much of our efforts in February were focused around adding polish to the product, while continuing to add new functionality requested by customers. Here are a few things customers saw come to life in their Scholarly accounts this month.
New AI Agents
AI Assistant gained 2 new agents: Promotions and Faculty Facts.
Promotions is an agent that can answer questions about promotion data within your institution.
Example: "What's the average time in rank for someone being promoted from an associate to a full professor?"
Faculty Facts is an agent used to compare facts among faculty members. Example queries include:
"Who is the person in my department with the most publications in 2023?"
"Please generate a list of professors in my department, ranked by h-index."
Configurable Extra Fields on Faculty Members
Previously, adding extra fields required contacting your account manager on the Scholarly side to get them added. This is now self-service for institution admins.
These extra fields are great for storing institution-specific information about faculty members or for common dates.
These fields will automatically show up on the faculty roster grid view.
Optionally, these fields and their values can be surfaced to faculty members on their Scholarly dashboard.
This is a great way to communicate commonly-asked-about datapoints from faculty member. Ones we see often with customers if "When am I next eligible for a sabbatical?".
See the screenshot below for an example.

Improved Experience
We made user-switching a bit more intuitive and remember recently-switched-to users.
Improved AI Paste design, which allows for better information density.
We fixed some bugs relating to dropdown menus within the application.
We fixed a bug with the grid question type within workflows.
Within the faculty admin profile, the timeline received a new design that better highlights the important information.
Thanks and until next time!
