Leadership Team Update

Kari Schaller Promoted to Chief Operating Officer at Scholarly
Since joining as VP of Operations in 2024, Kari has shaped customer implementations, scaled the operations team, and helped define Scholarly's approach to partnering with universities. Now she's stepping into the COO role to lead the company's next chapter.
Since becoming part of the team, Kari has been at the center of nearly everything that has powered Scholarly's growth. She led our earliest customer implementations from kickoff to go-live, turning complex data migrations into launches that institutions could trust. As demand grew, she built and scaled the operations team behind that work, creating the repeatable playbooks and rigor that let us take on larger and more complex universities without losing the high-touch service our customers count on.
That focus has shown up where it matters most: our customers stay, renew, and grow with us. Along the way, Kari has been a driving force in shaping product direction, carrying frontline insight from the institutions we serve straight into our roadmap.
"We're thrilled for Kari to step into the COO role," said Rusty Cowher, co-founder and CEO at Scholarly. "She has a rare combination of skills: she's an exceptional individual contributor, a strong team leader, and a genuinely wonderful person. Her leadership will be invaluable as we scale."
